2001
Results
Overall the league season
was successful, especially in the Under 14's and Yr 10 Open
divisions where the competition was extremely close. Throughout the year
we
introduced some new initiatives and thanks to the co-operation of all
schools these
initiatives helped the competition to run in a more professional manner.
At the
conclusion of Round 7 the competition tables were as follows:

Grand Finals were
held at Belmore Sports Ground and with the help of the Bulldogs,
the day proved to be very successful due to the great support from all
the schools
and the facilities provided by the Bulldogs. The CBSA would like to
thank Bulldogs
Development Officer Paul Tycehurst for his efforts in ensuring the day
ran smoothly
as well as Ricky Stuart for presenting runner up pennants and trophies.
In the Under 14 Grand
Final Penshurst controlled the ball well and had a sizeable lead
at half time. Lakemba played more consistently in the second half to
gain the lead in
the final minutes. The Yr 10 Open match was dominated by defence.
Despite the
absence of Dean McGrath, who was competing in the National
Championships,
Lakemba held off a committed Penshurst team. The Senior game also saw
some strong
defence in the first half, with Cathedral unable to complete several
scoring
opportunities. Weight of possession and better ball control eventually
sung the match
in Lakemba's favour.

Season 2001 was an
outstanding success due to not only the players but more
importantly the efforts of all the teachers involved.
